Appui aux Paysans Vulnérables pour la Protection de l’Environnement (APPE)2026-03-02T16:14:21+01:00

Appui aux Paysans Vulnérables pour la Protection de l’Environnement (APPE /ESAFF) Rwanda is the forum for smallholder farmers in Eastern and Southern Africa (ESAFF). It was founded during the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) in South Africa in 2002. The aim was to create a platform to bring smallholder farmers together in a social movement and to influence favorable agricultural policies and practices at the global, continental, regional, and national levels. Among other things, campaigns are organized for measures to adapt to climate change and responsible climate financing. There are group discussions with farmers on how they can respond to the challenges of climate change. Here they receive important information on agroecology, water harvesting, drought-tolerant crops, dietary diversity and food supply in the household, home gardens, and safe food handling in volcanic areas.
