As a supplement to the sponsorships for Rwandan children, Friends of Rwanda awards scholarships for students with your support. With the scholarships, the sponsored young people can complete an education at Rubavu Technical College in Rubavu. The scholarships benefit young people whose families are unable to pay the school fees and other education costs on their own.
Children from families of disadvantaged groups in particular can benefit from these education scholarships. These groups continue to live largely on the fringes of society and have little or no income. Education beyond the state-supported elementary school is something these families can hardly afford and is the exception.
The education scholarship covers all costs incurred by the scholarship holders for education and boarding. In addition to school fees, this includes money for insurance, a school uniform, mattress, bedding, shoes, transportation, excursions and pocket money. The RTC as partner organization takes over the organization on site.
The costs for a three-year education amount to 1,800 EUR per student.
