Empowering Young Talent and Building Confidence for Girls and Boys in Rural Rwanda.
A project funded by the Baden-Württemberg Foundation for Development Cooperation (SEZ).

December 2024. Young people in rural Rwanda often face significant limitations in their development due to a lack of educational opportunities and the challenging economic circumstances of their families. As a result, much personal potential and talent go untapped, leaving these youths vulnerable to a life away from their families and educational pathways. This frequently leads to homelessness and exposure to dangers such as drug use and prostitution.

In partnership with Unity Circus, an organization that fosters development, confidence, and stability among young people through acrobatics, theater, dance, and circus arts, we aim to build a training and event center. This facility will provide a safe space for young individuals to grow and realize their potential. Currently, Unity Circus faces significant challenges as their training programs depend on the availability of local school facilities. These permissions are not consistently granted and are often revoked on short notice, causing severe disruptions.

Our proposal to construct a dedicated building for Unity Circus has been approved by the Baden-Württemberg Foundation for Development Cooperation (SEZ). With the land for the project already purchased, construction will soon begin. The video linked below was created as part of the application process:

In addition to the funding provided, we still require further support to fully equip this project. Donations with the purpose “House for Unity Circus” are highly appreciated and will be used exclusively for this initiative. Thank you for helping us provide a brighter future for young people in Rwanda!
