With relatively mild and dry weather, we were able to kick off this year’s Advent season with our annual Christmas market stall at the Bad Boller Christmas market.
December 2025. With the energetic support of our Rwandan volunteers and trainees, the two stalls were quickly set up and stocked with all kinds of handicrafts. Hard-working hands had once again tied many beautiful Advent and door wreaths this year, which quickly found buyers.
Many visitors purchased special Christmas gifts from the wide range of African handicrafts on offer. Particularly noteworthy was the extensive selection of handmade bags, pouches, aprons, coasters, etc. These are produced by our supported sewing projects in Rwanda. The proceeds go directly to these seamstresses, who are single mothers with children with and without disabilities.
After a quiet lunch break, the rush at our legendary Spanish (organic) mulled wine bar increased in the late afternoon, inviting many familiar and unfamiliar guests to linger and chat with friends and acquaintances at the Friends of Ruanda e.V. stand. Interested visitors learned about current projects in Rwanda and the development of the association, which is now almost 20 years old.
An hour before the market closed, our mulled wine pots were empty and the mulled wine was completely sold out. Some disappointed market visitors moved on and tried their luck elsewhere.
We can once again say that this year’s event was a complete success!
We would like to express our sincere thanks to all the volunteers for their commitment and support in preparing, setting up, decorating, washing up, and selling at the stand! Special thanks also go to all the guests and interested parties who visited our Christmas market stand!
