December 2024. In cold yet dry and later sunny weather, we were able to set up and stock our stalls at the Bad Boll Christmas Market on the first Advent Saturday, with the energetic support of our Rwandan volunteers and trainees.
Once again, many diligent hands had crafted beautiful Advent and door wreaths, which quickly found buyers.
Visitors were able to discover special Christmas gifts from the diverse selection of African handicrafts. A highlight was the extensive array of handmade bags, pouches, aprons, coasters, and more, produced by our two sponsored sewing projects in Rwanda. The proceeds go directly to the seamstresses—single mothers with children, both with and without disabilities.
Later in the afternoon, demand for our legendary Spanish (organic) mulled wine grew, inviting many familiar and new guests to linger and chat with friends and acquaintances at the Friends of Ruanda stall.
Interested visitors learned about our current projects in Rwanda and the development of our nearly 19-year-old organization.
Once again, we can proudly say it was a resounding success!
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers who helped with preparation, setup, decoration, washing up, and selling at the stall!
A special thanks also goes to all the guests and visitors who stopped by our Christmas market stall!
